MARBLE

Marble is one of the most beautiful materials and a timeless classic. Marble is a natural stone just like granite, you will find this material in mainly light and pastel colours, it is soft in nature therefore will easily scratch and stain as it is porous.

We would not recommend marble for kitchen worktops however a great material for table tops.

Care & Maintenance

New stone worktops require a little day to day care. They are pre-treated with a liquid silicone sealer which reduces its natural porosity and provides a protective coating. It will take 7 days for the sealer to fully dry. Do not use the worktop for at least 24 hours then take care during the following few days.

We advise that you clean your quartz stone surfaces regularly with soapy water or a neutral mild detergent and a soft cloth/sponge. Rinse off surfaces with clean water. Polish dry with a soft cloth.

A care kit can be obtained directly from our workshop at Unit 4A, 158 Dukes Road, W3 0SL. This will help with the longevity of your stone surface. Speak to a member of our team to find out more.
Bleach, chlorine based cleaners, acids, alkalis or concentrated disinfectants will damage your stone surfaces. We strongly advise NOT to use any of these on your surfaces. If any of these come into contact with the stone, clean them off immediately, otherwise surface damage and discolouration is likely to occur.

Tumeric, beetroot, berries and other foods which stain can leave marks on your stone surfaces. Equally, acidic foods and drinks can etch the stone surface and cause irreversible damage. Always use pan stands and trivets to protect stone surfaces from hot and rough pans and utensils. Direct contact can scratch and stain the stone surfaces.

Always use cutting boards to chop and slice food upon. Never cut directly onto the stone surfaces. Although quartz is a scratch resistant material, it is not scratch proof.
Over time, natural stone surfaces (granite or marble) may begin to weather and naturally loose its initial appearance. We recommend resealing your worktops every 6months.
Never stand, sit or put heavy weights on the worktop, especially around sinks and hobs where the material may be weaker.
